Tattoo Cartridges with Membrane for Hygiene and Backflow Prevention

Every R&G Bio cartridge comes with a silicone membrane built into the plunger. It seals the gap between the needle tip and your machine grip, so ink, blood, and tissue fluid can’t flow back into your equipment.

Membrane cartridges are the industry standard now for good reason. The seal keeps cross-contamination risk down and your machine internals stay cleaner over time. Less gunk in the grip means fewer repairs and a longer working life.

We build this into every type we make—round liners, round shaders, magnums, curved magnums, flats, and PMU needles. Same protection regardless of what you’re running. Every cartridge gets EO gas sterilized, carries a batch number for full traceability, and is manufactured in ISO Class 7 cleanrooms under ISO 13485.

We also support full OEM and ODM customization, including housing colors, private labeling, and packaging solutions tailored to your brand.

Membrane vs. Regular Cartridges

How the Safety Membrane Works

Inside each cartridge, there’s a silicone membrane built into the plunger. The needle moves up and down, the membrane flexes with it, and the seal stays intact the whole time.

That seal splits the cartridge into two sections. The front end is where the needle hits skin and ink lives. The back end connects to your machine grip. If any fluid tries to push back up the tube, the membrane catches it. Your equipment stays clean.

Why Membrane Cartridges Are Essential

Prevents Cross-Contamination: Blocks blood, ink, and tissue fluids from entering the machine grip and contacting subsequent clients

Protects Equipment: Prevents corrosive ink and biological fluids from damaging internal machine components

Reduces Cleaning Time: Machine grips stay cleaner, reducing post-session sterilization workload

Ensures Consistent Performance: Prevents ink buildup that can cause needle sticking or inconsistent flow

Meets Regulatory Standards: Required by health authorities in most jurisdictions for professional tattooing

Client Confidence: Demonstrates commitment to hygiene and safety best practices

FAQs

A membrane cartridge has a silicone seal built into the plunger that blocks the gap between needle tip and machine grip. Ink, blood, tissue fluid — none of it can backflow into your machine.

Regular cartridges without this seal are basically outdated now. They let fluid creep back up, and that’s a cross-contamination nightmare waiting to happen.

Inside the cartridge, a silicone membrane sits in the plunger. As the needle strokes up and down, the membrane flexes with it but never breaks the seal. So the cartridge stays split into two zones: the front where the needle meets skin, and the back where it connects to your grip. Any fluid trying to travel back up hits that membrane and stops dead.

>> See more explanation in Why Membrane Tattoo Cartridges Matter for Safety

Yes. RL, RS, M1, RM, Flats, PMU needles, doesn’t matter which one you grab. The membrane is in there. Same protection across the board.

No. Non-membrane cartridges are old tech at this point. Fluids backflow straight into the grip, which means cross-contamination risk, corroded internals, hours of scrubbing, and probably a violation if your local health inspector spots them. The only reason anyone still buys them is they’re cheaper. Not worth it.

>> See more explanation in Why Membrane Tattoo Cartridges Matter for Safety

Not at all. The membrane is made to stretch and rebound through well over 100,000 cycles without tightening up or restricting the needle. It moves with the stroke, keeps the seal, and stays out of the way.

ISO Class 7 cleanrooms, ISO 13485 quality management. Needles are 316L surgical stainless, housings are medical-grade polymer.

Each one gets its own EO gas sterilization run, then sealed in a blister pack. Every cartridge carries a batch number so you can trace it back to the exact production run if you ever need to.

CE Marked, FDA Registered, KFDA Approved, ISO 13485, RoHS compliant. All paperwork ships with the order for whatever market you’re selling into.

Definitely. Because fluid never reaches the grip internals, your machine stays cleaner inside. Less corrosion, less gunk buildup, fewer trips to the repair bench. The equipment just lasts longer.

>> See more explanation in Why Membrane Tattoo Cartridges Matter for Safety

Yes. The grip barely sees any fluid because the membrane blocks it, so your teardown and sterilization after the session goes way faster. Less scrubbing, more time to actually work or head home.
