MEDICAL-GRADE MANUFACTURING

PRECISION TIGHT ROUND LINER CARTRIDGES FOR CRISP, CONTROLLED LINE WORK

At R&G Bio, we make disposable tattoo needle cartridges for tattoo shops, distributors, and permanent makeup artists worldwide.

Our Tight RL cartridges are for artists who want sharper control and tighter line definition. The needles sit closer together than standard RLs, and the ink flow stays consistent. Good for crisp outlines, small details, and anything that needs clean precision work. Needle stays steady in the grip. Line follows your hand with minimal spread.

Each cartridge has a membrane to prevent backflow. Individually sealed, EO gas sterilized, with batch numbers for traceability. Needles are 316L surgical stainless steel. Housings are medical-grade polymer. Everything runs inside ISO Class 7 cleanrooms under ISO 13485.

What Are Tight Round Liner Cartridges?

Tight Round Liner needles are packed tighter than standard RLs. The pins sit closer together in the cluster, so the tips stay aligned and deposit ink with less spread. Lines come out sharper, edges stay cleaner.

That tighter grouping also means the needle enters the skin with less wobble. For work where line width needs to stay consistent — clean outlines, fine details, anything that can’t drift — Tight RL is what most artists reach for.

Primary Uses & Applications

Fine Outlining: Creating sharp, clean outlines with minimal needle spread for highly controlled tattoo work.

Detail Line Work: Drawing small, precise details where clarity and consistency matter most.

Script & Lettering: Producing crisp text, fine lettering, and delicate curved strokes with strong definition.

Technical Line Art: Executing geometric elements, ornamental lines, and structured design components with accuracy.

Bugpin RL

Definition

Closely packed pins for maximum precision.

Open/hollow center for increased ink flow.

Defined by thinner needle diameter (#08 or #10).

Feel

Firm, compact, and highly controlled.

Looser internal layout; less resistance.

Slimmer pins; feels lighter and softer.

Gauge

Typically #08, #10, or #12.

Usually #12 (0.35mm).

Primarily #08 (0.25mm) or thinner.

Ink Flow

Restricted and focused; steady delivery.

High flow; supports bold, smooth movement.

Lighter deposition; easy to layer details.

Line Style

Sharp, clean, and well-defined.

Bold, thick, and high-impact.

Delicate, fine, and crisp.

Best For

Script, geometric, and technical linework.

Bold traditional work and thick outlines.

Ultra-detail, realism, and fine script.

Advantage

Maximum edge control and clarity.

Strong ink delivery without losing shape.

Reduces visual heaviness; great for micro-work.

Trade-off

Can feel too restricted if packed too tight.

Less suitable for ultra-fine precision.

Lacks the bold coverage of larger gauges.

FAQs

Tight RL pushes the needles closer together than a standard RL. The soldering point sits lower on the needle bar, pinching the grouping at the tip so every needle converges on one sharper point. You get a cleaner, more concentrated line with less spread.

Standard RL already packs needles in a circle. Tight RL compresses that same count further. The result reads thinner and more precise — even with the same needle count and diameter.

Grab Tight RL when the design calls for the thinnest, crispest lines you can lay down. Eyelashes in portraits. Micro lettering. Hair-thin ornamental details. Fine-line tattoos where every millimeter matters.

If your regular RL leaves lines that feel slightly too thick or soft, switching to Tight RL tightens the visual weight without dropping needle count.

Yes. Our Tight RL cartridges use the same universal membrane system as the rest of our lineup. They drop into any rotary or pen-style machine that accepts standard cartridges. No adaptors needed.

The tighter grouping creates slightly more skin resistance than standard RL. Some artists prefer running Tight RL at a slightly lower voltage to compensate. Start at your usual setting and dial down if the line feels too aggressive.

Tight RL comes in #08 (0.25 mm), #10 (0.30 mm), and #12 (0.35 mm), with counts from 1RL to 14RL. For fine-line work, 3RL and 5RL in #08 or #10 are the most popular picks.

Our finest line in the catalog: 1RL Tight in #08. For bolder outlines that still need tight precision, 7RL or 9RL in #12 delivers the density without the spread.

Not necessarily. The tighter grouping spreads the load across more contact points in a smaller area, which can actually reduce the pinching sensation some clients feel with looser configurations. The catch: because the line is more concentrated, it is easier to overwork a spot without noticing.

Use a lighter hand than you would with standard RL. Let the needle do the work. One clean pass with Tight RL often equals two passes with a looser grouping.

Both deliver thin lines, but they take different paths. Tight RL achieves fineness by compressing the needle grouping. Bugpin RL achieves it by using thinner individual needles. You can even stack both approaches: Tight grouping plus Bugpin diameters for maximum precision.

Tight RL with #12 standard needles still produces a line thinner than standard RL with the same count. Pair Tight grouping with #08 or #10 diameters when you need the absolute finest line possible.
