Round Magnum Tattoo Cartridges for Smooth Shading & Large Coverage

R&G Bio manufactures round magnum tattoo cartridges for shops, distributors and permanent makeup artists worldwide — built for soft shading, smooth gradients and controlled blending.

The curved needle arrangement follows the natural contour of the skin, laying down soft, even shading over large areas with less trauma than a flat magnum — comfortable for the client, consistent for the artist.

Every cartridge is EO gas sterilized, batch-coded for full traceability, and produced in ISO Class 7 cleanrooms under an ISO 13485 quality system. Review our certifications and compliance documents and see how we manufacture before you place a bulk order.

We support full OEM/ODM programs — housing colors, private labeling and custom packaging built around your brand, with factory-direct MOQs and tiered wholesale pricing.

Built Like a Medical Device, Priced for Wholesale

The arch is the whole product: bend it wrong and the soft edge disappears. We control every step in our own factory, from needle grinding to sterile packing.

01 Precision-Curved Arch Grouping

RM needles sit in two rows bent into a smooth arch, so the corner needles ride shallower than the center. We form and solder the arch by machine, keeping the curve identical across the batch — that curve is what makes fills fade out with no hard borders.

02 Safety Membrane System

A medical-grade silicone membrane sits inside every cartridge. It keeps needle tension steady through long shading sessions and stops ink and body fluids from flowing back into the grip and machine.

03 Polished 304 Needle Tips

We use Japanese-imported 304 surgical steel with mirror-polished tips. Smooth, sharp points mean clean penetration and less friction in the skin. Each grouping is soldered by machine, so the recessed center is identical across every batch.

01 Medical-Grade Housing

The shell is medical-grade polymer with a wide clear tip matched to the curved footprint, so artists see the full ink load at the working point. The standard fitting works with most rotary machines and cartridge grips.

02 EO Gas Sterilization

Every cartridge is sealed in its own blister pack and sterilized with EO gas. Our sterilization process is validated under ISO 11135, with batch records kept for full traceability.

03 Two-Stage Quality Control

Every unit passes 100% visual inspection on the line. Then 30% of each batch is checked again under 100x microscopy for tip alignment, solder quality, and center-channel depth.

Why the Arch Decides the Blend

A flat magnum presses every needle to the same depth, so the fill ends with a hard edge. Bend the rows into an arch and the corner needles touch the skin more gently — the fill fades out on its own. That is why round magnums blend so well on black & grey and realism work, and why they follow body contours — arms, shoulders, ribs — without skipping. But the trick only works if the arch is symmetrical: a lopsided curve shades darker on one side. That is why our QC checks arch symmetry under 100x magnification on every batch.

Where Turbo Liners Work Best

One job: bold, saturated lines at higher speed. If the style is outline-driven and time matters, this is the needle.

Portraits & Realism

Skin tones live and die by soft transitions. 9RM to 13RM in #10 build smooth, mark-free gradients that flat magnums struggle to match.

Black & Grey Backgrounds

Smoke, clouds, soft background fills — the wide arch covers big areas with an even tone and leaves no visible needle lines.

Body Contours

Arms, shoulders, ribs, thighs — the curved footprint follows the body’s curves instead of fighting them. Less skipping, less catching, fewer passes.

Soft Color Blending

Petal fades, watercolor transitions, soft realism color — the arch lays color down gradually, so blends look airbrushed instead of striped.

Small Number, Detail Blends. Big Number, Soft Coverage.

Needle count sets the shading width. Gauge sets how fast the tone builds. Match both to the area.

Round Magnum (RM) vs Round Shader (RS)

Both have “round” in the name — and both shade. The difference is scale: a small circle of needles versus a wide arched row.

Best For

Portraits, black & grey, realism, soft color blends, backgrounds

Detail shading, small blends, stipple, contours and tight areas

Classic Mistake

Shading a small face detail with a 15RM — blows out the detail

Filling a sleeve background with a 7RS — slow and patchy

FAQs

Round Magnum cartridges go by a few names — Curved Magnums, Soft Edge Magnums. The needles sit in a curved arch instead of straight rows. That curve follows the body better. You get softer edges, ink flows more evenly, and transitions across shaded areas look cleaner. Because the needles touch the skin gradually rather than all at once, the ink goes in gentler. You can layer tones without beating up the skin.

Needle arrangement. Edge quality. That’s really it.

RM (Curved Magnum): Single curved arch. Soft, feathered edges. Moderate ink deposit. The curved shape hugs body contours and doesn’t hit as hard at the edges.

M1 (Weaved Magnum): Two straight rows in a staggered pattern. Maximum saturation. Clean, defined edges. Widest coverage per pass.

In plain terms: M1 throws down color fast with crisp edges. RM blends soft and the edges fade into the skin naturally.

Pick RM when softness beats speed:

  • Portrait realism where the skin needs to look real, not tattooed
  • Black and grey with gradients that vanish into the surrounding skin
  • Soft color blending, watercolor effects, anything flowing
  • PMU work like powder brows where diffused edges are the whole technique
  • Curved body areas — shoulders, knees, ribs, face — flat needles skip and catch here
  • Any piece where a hard edge kills the illusion

M1 wins for packing big color fields fast, bold backgrounds, traditional work where sharp edges actually help the design.

Needle diameters:

  • #10 (0.30mm): Standard. Daily shading and blending.
  • #12 (0.35mm): Thicker. Bolder saturation, more ink per pass.

Taper lengths:

  • Long taper (5.5mm): Finer point. Gentler deposit. Better for delicate skin and subtle gradients.
  • Medium taper (3.5mm): More direct flow. Faster saturation while keeping things smooth.

Yes. Universal fit with all major cartridge grips and rotary machines, including pen styles. Locks into standard 1-inch and 30mm grips with a snap-fit. If you’re already using premium cartridges from other brands, ours fit the same setup. No adapters. No rings. No hassle.

Integrated anti-backflow membrane in every cartridge. Blocks blood and ink from getting into your grip. Protects your machine and your next client from cross-contamination. Each cartridge is individually EO gas sterilized per ISO 11135, sealed in its own blister. Sterility indicators and expiration dates on every pack. Full batch traceability on every box — lot numbers tie back to production records, source material, sterilization validation, QC docs. Need to verify a batch? We pull the full record within 24 hours.

316L surgical stainless steel needles — same alloy as medical implants. It resists corrosion, holds an edge through long sessions, and cuts down on reactions for clients with metal sensitivities. Housings are medical-grade polymer, made in ISO Class 7 cleanrooms under ISO 13485. The membrane is medical-grade silicone with low-tension rebound that keeps its flex over 4+ hour sessions. No membrane fatigue halfway through a big piece.

100% EO gas. Individual blister packs. Every batch gets biological indicator testing under ISO 11135. Sterilization date, expiration date, and lot number on every blister. We don’t sell unpackaged or non-sterile cartridges. Period.
