Tight Round Liner Cartridges for Crisp, Controlled Lines

R&G Bio manufactures tight round liner tattoo cartridges for distributors, studio chains and private-label brands worldwide — built for artists who want sharper control and tighter line definition than a standard RL.

In a tight RL the needles sit closer together, keeping ink flow consistent and spread minimal. The result: crisp outlines, small details and clean precision work, with a needle that stays steady in the grip from the first pass to the last.

Every cartridge is EO gas sterilized, batch-coded for full traceability, and produced in ISO Class 7 cleanrooms under an ISO 13485 quality system. Review our certifications and compliance documents and see how we manufacture before you place a bulk order.

We support full OEM/ODM programs — housing colors, private labeling and custom packaging built around your brand, with factory-direct MOQs and tiered wholesale pricing.

The widest tight line — bold outlines, crisp borders

Built Like a Medical Device, Priced for Wholesale

Tighter grouping means tighter tolerances — a few microns of drift and the point is gone. Here is how we keep every tight liner identical.

01 Close-Packed Machine Soldering

The needles are drawn closer together than a standard RL and soldered by machine, so the point forms the same way on every unit. Tight grouping plus consistent soldering is what makes the same count pull a thinner, crisper line — box after box.

02 Safety Membrane System

A medical-grade silicone membrane sits inside every cartridge. It keeps needle tension steady through long, controlled lining sessions and stops ink and body fluids from flowing back into the grip and machine.

03 Polished 304 Needle Tips

We use Japanese-imported 304 surgical steel with mirror-polished tips. Smooth, sharp points mean clean penetration and less friction in the skin. Each grouping is soldered by machine, so the recessed center is identical across every batch.

04 Medical-Grade Housing

The shell is medical-grade polymer with a clear tip, so artists see the ink channel working while they line. Low-friction inner walls keep the needle stable. The standard fitting works with most rotary machines and cartridge grips.

05 EO Gas Sterilization

Every cartridge is sealed in its own blister pack and sterilized with EO gas. Our sterilization process is validated under ISO 11135, with batch records kept for full traceability.

06 Two-Stage Quality Control

Every unit passes 100% visual inspection on the line. Then 30% of each batch is checked again under 100x microscopy for tip alignment, solder quality, and center-channel depth.

Two Ways to a Finer Line — and How to Stack Them

There are two ways to make a line thinner. Bugpin needles go thinner on the steel itself — 0.25mm instead of 0.35mm. A tight grouping goes tighter on the arrangement — same needles, packed closer. The results stack: a tight RL with #12 needles already lines thinner than a standard RL with the same count, and a tight grouping in #08 bugpin diameter is the finest combination we make. If your artists want crisp, controlled lines without giving up ink presence, tight RL is the middle ground between a standard liner and a super tight liner.

Where Tight Liners Work Best

One job: crisp, controlled outlines. If the line must stay exactly as wide as planned, this is the needle.

Neo-Traditional Detail

Neo-traditional mixes bold frames with fine interior lines. A tight 5RL or 7RL keeps the detail lines crisp without going full fine line.

Script & Lettering

Letters need consistent line weight from first stroke to last. The focused ink flow of a tight 3RL or 5RL keeps every character clean

Geometric & Ornamental

Intersections and parallel lines expose any spread instantly. The compact point of a tight liner keeps geometry sharp at every crossing.

Illustrative & Crosshatching

Crosshatch shading is hundreds of fine lines side by side — each one must stay thin and separate. Tight liners hold that discipline.

Small Number, Crisp Detail. Big Number, Crisp Bold.

Needle count sets the line width — the tight grouping just keeps every width sharper than its standard equivalent.

Tight RL vs Standard RL

FAQs

Tight RL pushes the needles closer together than a standard RL. The soldering point sits lower on the needle bar, pinching the grouping at the tip so every needle converges on one sharper point. You get a cleaner, more concentrated line with less spread.

Standard RL already packs needles in a circle. Tight RL compresses that same count further. The result reads thinner and more precise — even with the same needle count and diameter.

Grab Tight RL when the design calls for the thinnest, crispest lines you can lay down. Eyelashes in portraits. Micro lettering. Hair-thin ornamental details. Fine-line tattoos where every millimeter matters.

If your regular RL leaves lines that feel slightly too thick or soft, switching to Tight RL tightens the visual weight without dropping needle count.

Yes. Our Tight RL cartridges use the same universal membrane system as the rest of our lineup. They drop into any rotary or pen-style machine that accepts standard cartridges. No adaptors needed.

The tighter grouping creates slightly more skin resistance than standard RL. Some artists prefer running Tight RL at a slightly lower voltage to compensate. Start at your usual setting and dial down if the line feels too aggressive.

Tight RL comes in #08 (0.25 mm), #10 (0.30 mm), and #12 (0.35 mm), with counts from 1RL to 14RL. For fine-line work, 3RL and 5RL in #08 or #10 are the most popular picks.

Our finest line in the catalog: 1RL Tight in #08. For bolder outlines that still need tight precision, 7RL or 9RL in #12 delivers the density without the spread.

Not necessarily. The tighter grouping spreads the load across more contact points in a smaller area, which can actually reduce the pinching sensation some clients feel with looser configurations. The catch: because the line is more concentrated, it is easier to overwork a spot without noticing.

Use a lighter hand than you would with standard RL. Let the needle do the work. One clean pass with Tight RL often equals two passes with a looser grouping.

Both deliver thin lines, but they take different paths. Tight RL achieves fineness by compressing the needle grouping. Bugpin RL achieves it by using thinner individual needles. You can even stack both approaches: Tight grouping plus Bugpin diameters for maximum precision.

Tight RL with #12 standard needles still produces a line thinner than standard RL with the same count. Pair Tight grouping with #08 or #10 diameters when you need the absolute finest line possible.
