Textured Round Liner Tattoo Cartridges for Bold, Saturated Lines

R&G Bio manufactures textured round liner tattoo cartridges for brands, distributors and studios serving traditional, blackwork and dotwork artists — more ink per pass, fewer dips, factory-direct consistency.

Tiny grooves on the needle taper hold extra ink, so textured needles carry more pigment per dip and lay down bolder, more saturated lines with fewer passes — while the points stay sharp and precision-ground. Sizes 3TRL–18TRL in #10 and #12 gauge.

Every cartridge is EO gas sterilized, batch-coded for full traceability, and produced in ISO Class 7 cleanrooms under an ISO 13485 quality system. Review our certifications and compliance documents and see how we manufacture before you place a bulk order.

We support full OEM/ODM programs — housing colors, private labeling and custom packaging built around your brand, with factory-direct MOQs and tiered wholesale pricing.

Texture only works when it is controlled. Groove depth, point sharpness, and grouping alignment decide whether a textured liner performs or drags. Here is how we control all three.

01 Safety Membrane System

A medical-grade elastic membrane sits inside every cartridge. It keeps needle tension steady during long sessions and stops ink and body fluids from flowing back into the grip and machine. No backflow, no cross-contamination.

02 Micro-Textured Tapers, Sharp Points

We grind the texture into the taper on purpose — controlled micro-grooves, never random roughness. The needle point itself stays sharp and precision-finished, so penetration stays clean while the shaft carries the extra ink.

03 Medical-Grade Housing

The shell is medical-grade polymer with a clear tip. Artists see the ink load while they work. The body has a non-slip grip design, and the standard fitting works with most rotary machines and cartridge grips on the market.C

04 EO Gas Sterilization

Every cartridge is sealed in its own blister pack and sterilized with EO gas. Our sterilization process is validated under ISO 11135, with batch records kept for full traceability.

05 Two-Stage Quality Control

Every unit passes 100% visual inspection on the line. Then 30% of each batch is checked again under 100x microscopy for groove consistency, point sharpness, and grouping alignment. Rough or dull needles never ship.

How Texture Holds More Ink?

A magnum spreads needles across two rows. A flat shader puts them all on one line. That single edge works almost like a blade: it cuts a clean border, fills corners without overflow, and lays down dense, even saturation along the full width of the row. Artists rotate the wrist to work with the flat side for fills, or ride the edge for sharp detail. That is why flat shaders stay in every blackwork, geometric, and traditional artist’s setup — no other configuration gives this level of edge control.

Where Textured Liners Work Best

One series, four core jobs. If the work needs dense, saturated marks in few passes, this is the needle.

Traditional & Neo-Traditional

“Bold will hold.” Textured liners push dense pigment in one pass, so classic outlines stay dark and age well. The go-to choice for old-school and neo-traditional line work.

Dotwork & Stipple

Every dot lands darker and more consistent. The textured surface feeds ink steadily, so stipple gradients and pepper shading build faster with fewer touch-ups.

High-Saturation Black Lines

Lettering, tribal, banners, and heavy blackwork outlines. Large textured groupings like 11TRL to 18TRL lay down maximum-density black lines that stay solid after healing.

Whip Shading & Dark Accents

Fast, punchy whip shading and dense dark accents in black & grey pieces. The extra ink load makes each flick of the needle count — ideal for artists with a confident hand.

Small Group, Fine Bold Lines. Big Group, Maximum Weight.

Needle count sets the line width. Texture sets the density. Match both to the job — that is the whole logic.

3TRL – 5TRL

Fine bold lines, dotwork, small details

7TRL – 9TRL

Everyday bold outlines, lettering

11TRL – 14TRL

Heavy traditional lines, banners

18TRL

FAQs

Textured tattoo needles are needles whose taper surface is left unpolished, with tiny micro-grooves along the shaft. These grooves are made on purpose during grinding — they are not damage. The texture raises the surface area, so the needle holds and deposits more ink than a polished needle. Textured groupings are used for bold lines, dense color packing, and other high-saturation work.

The difference is the surface finish. Standard needles are mirror-polished and glide smoothly with the least drag. Textured needles keep micro-grooves on the taper, so they carry more ink per dip, need fewer re-dips, and put down heavier saturation per pass — but with slightly more needle drag and skin trauma. Choose textured for bold, single-pass saturation; choose polished for fine lines, smooth blends, and multi-pass work.

Yes. The micro-grooves on a textured needle increase its surface area, and ink clings to the grooves through surface tension. The grouping picks up more ink per dip and releases it more steadily, so artists dip into the ink cap less often and get bolder saturation per pass. The exact gain depends on ink viscosity, taper length, and technique.

Styles that need dense, saturated marks in few passes: American traditional and neo-traditional outlines, tribal, lettering, heavy blackwork lines, and dotwork or stipple shading. Textured liners are not the best choice for fine-line work or multi-pass blending — polished needles stay the better tool there.
